The Minerva Dairy produced its first vat of cheese and batch of butter in 1935. The dairy store/lunch counter opened March 10, 1940, in a blinding snowstorm. Today, the Minerva Dairy is run by the fourth and fifth generations. Located off of U.S. Route 30, the in-house store offers a large selection of natural cheeses, deli items, Amish-style butter, Ohio raw milk and goat cheeses. This factory strives to maintain a product free of hormones and antibiotics. Watch through the viewing window to see how the cheese is made. Family owned and operated since 1894. Hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, noon-6 p.m., and Wednesday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Admission is free.
